Permanent Makeup FAQ’s
-
Permanent makeup is, well, permanent—so it’s important to choose shades and styles that complement your natural features and age beautifully over time. While results are long-lasting, most PMU will gradually shift in tone and may need a color boost or correction every few years to keep things fresh.
For brows, multiple sessions over the years can lead to pigment buildup. In some cases, laser removal or lightening may be recommended to maintain a soft, natural look.
Brow PMU can be life-changing for those with sparse or no natural brow hair. But if you’ve got a good brow base, we suggest exploring our other brow services first—they might be all you need for that perfect shape and definition..
-
Yes, permanent makeup does require aftercare—and it’s a key part of getting the best results. You'll need to keep the area clean, avoid touching or picking, and follow our healing instructions closely for the first 7–10 days. We’ll walk you through exactly what to do (and what to avoid) so your PMU heals evenly and lasts beautifully.
-
Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for permanent makeup. Those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, undergoing chemo, are under the age of 18 or have medications or illnesses that impede their ability to heal normally are not candidates for permanent makeup.

Permanent makeup is a form of tattooing, often called micropigmentation or cosmetic tattooing. Unlike traditional tattoos, PMU is designed to sit closer to the surface of the skin, which helps it fade gradually over time. That said, it’s still a tattoo—and you should plan for your results to be long-term..

We use two types of numbing during the service to minimise discomfort. An initial numbing before we begin and a secondary numbing later in the service. Some clients may feel so little that they fall asleep during the service and others may experience more discomfort.
